When it's your cat who is about to become the leader of their Clan, there is a detailed ceremony that goes along with it. You'll need to roleplay them entering the cavern of the Moonstone from a long, twisted tunnel and crouching by the stone to wait for sleep, and then wait for me to post the first part of their dream. Then you'll need to put what they say in response to the question (yes or no, plus some extra thoughts of theirs if you like), then wait for the main part. Once that's done, you just need to make them wake up and return home. For medicine cats, it's pretty much the same, except there isn't a question.
Deadshadow entered a long twisted tunnel, nervously. She was about to take control of her Clan! How exciting, she thought. But she couldn't shake the anticapation from her paws as she padded up the Moonstone and touched her nose to it, waiting for her chance to answer the question. "Let's go," she murmured quietly to herself.

A pitch-black warrior put a sparkling paw forward and began the long journey down to the earthly place where Deadshadow waited. All around him, the rest of StarClan was doing the same, and the millions of them stalked proudly down the sky. No cat could have told how much time that took, because time was irrelevant to these cats. When they were finally all sitting around the hollow, they spoke. "Are you ready for your nine lives and new name?" They didn't need to ask this question, because they knew already. It was part of the ceremony, however, so they asked it, as they had asked every Clan leader who had risen to power since the formation of StarClan.

Trying to sound stern, she firmly stated, "I am." She scanned the space in front of her and saw a glistening black warrior. Immediatly, as if feeling like she did something wrong, Deadshadow snapped her eyes closed until they creased at the top in effort. I am the leader of DarknessClan! Deadshadow thought eagerly. I have managed to prove my love and loyaty for my Clan, and now I rule it, she thought. She smiled wider as she imagined her self speaking for her Clan at a Gathering and announcing that she was the new leader. Deadshadow imagined herself curled up inside her new den, snuggly. Most of all, her last image, was Bloodpulse and Ashsky watching her from the skies, with big, proud grins on their faces. And despite their awful reputation, Deadshadow was touched her parents cared about her new future.

The first cat stepped forwards and bent his head to touch his muzzle to Deadshadow's. He then meowed solemnly, "With this life I give you courage. Use it well in defense of your Clan." He stepped back, and a second cat padded towards Deadshadow. "With this life I give you justice. Use it well to judge the actions of others." The action of approaching the warrior was repeated over and over. Each cat had a different message. A cat who had been right when others were wrong had, "With this life I give you loyalty to what you know to be right. Use it well to guide your Clan in times of trouble." A cat once driven onto the Thunderpath mewed, "With this life I give you tireless energy. Use it well to carry out the duties of a leader." One strong queen used the words, "With this life I give you protection. Use it well to care for your Clan as a mother cares for her kits." The apprentice who had never become a warrior carried the message, "With this life I give you mentoring. Use it well to train the young cats of your Clan." A former medicine cat announced clearly, "With this life I give you compassion. Use it well for the elders of your Clan, and the sick, and all those weaker than yourself." A cat who had died for love purred, "With this life I give you love. Use it well for all the cats in your care." Finally, the old Clan leader stalked proudly over to Deadshadow. "Welcome, Deadshadow, my warrior, and my deputy. With this life I give you nobility and certainty and faith. Use them well as you lead your Clan in the ways of StarClan and the warrior code." The ceremony was almost over now, and there was only one thing left to do. StarClan rose to their paws. The former leader signaled that Deadshadow should rise as well. "I hail you by your new name, Deadstar. Your old life is no more. You have now received the nine lives of a leader, and StarClan grants you the guardianship of DarknessClan. Defend it well; care for young and old; honor your ancestors and the traditions of the warrior code; live each life with pride and dignity." The cats chanted, as if receiving a new warrior, "Deadstar! Deadstar! Deadstar!" At length, the chant faded away, and the starry warriors swirled back up to their places, leaving Deadstar in the center of the clearing at Fourtrees.

Deadstar figured she hadn't blinked the whole ceremony, her eyes were staring at each cat who had granted her a life. And the feeling of life surging through her body was unforgettable. What really shook Deadstar is that she thought, in the back of all those cats granting her nine lives, Bloodpulse and Ashsky stood, flicking their tails and chanting along with StarClan's other warriors. Deadstar couldn't fathom why. When they got thrown out as rogues, they didn't make an effort to take their kit along with them. Like they didn't care what happened to her. And everyday Deadstar would sit at the edge of camp, waiting to see if they would come back to see if their daughter was okay. Up until she was deputy, that's how life was. Deadstar longed to see her father's pale ginger fur and her mother's striking blue eyes. But she soon forgot how beautiful Ashsky's eyes were. And how striking Bloodpulse's fur was. She forgot how Bloodpulse looked like a running drop of flame when he dashed away. And how everytime Deadstar gazed into Ashsky's eyes, she thought she would get sucked into the skies. How dare they! Deadstar thought angrily. They expect me to accept them as my friends now! Well they have not met my real self. They only remember me as a helpless kit. They could have remembered me as a strong warrior. But they didn't come for me, she hissed in her thoughts. Deadstar spat in the dirt and turned around to go home. But she stopped before the Thunderpath. She knew that when she arrived in camp, the whole Clan would congratulate and such. But who would rub against her and lick her between the eyes? She had no kin or lovers. Deadstar suddenly felt waves of lonliness. She continued home and tried to remember what an honor it was to be leader of such a Clan. Friends or not, she had a Clan to take care of. Like her last life was meant for, she was not the same cat anymore.
